    Holy Trinity Church Roof

All the scaffolding is down and we can report that the roof is now, as far as we are aware, waterproof. This of course came with a huge cost but needed to be done. We are now applying for grants to see if we can cover more of the cost of £40.000 to pay for it. Last December we received £10,000 from the Muton Trust for which we are extremely grateful. Any kind donations thankfully received! We are about £12,000 short of our target.

Thought for the Week 15th July 2018

In our Gospel today Herod could have made a different choice, but power, prestige, and status had replaced God in his life. Though he loved to listen to John the Baptist, he would not risk his reputation and the respect of the people in order to spare John’s life. Our lives are filled with choices. Herod chose loyalty to his kingdom and the power it afforded him. He presided over a banquet of death. Jesus calls us to belong to Him, speaking the truth no matter the cost, working as best we can to bring justice for all, and living lives of compassion and concern for those in need. Jesus calls us to live beyond ourselves. May we never lose that sense of calling as Christians.
