Choir Vestry Works by “Dodger and Bodger Refurbishment Specialists”

A couple of weeks ago some suspicious characters (one of whom was masked and all tooled-up) skulked around for a bit and then gained entry into the choir vestry and set to work turning the place inside out and removing various items. Luckily their activities did not result in the church having to make another insurance claim; the motley crew comprised Steve Booth, Derek Griffin (ringleader), Leigh Bishop and Meridy Phillips (a gang from the choir - mug shots not available) who had determined to undertake some general cleaning, tidying and minor refurbishment works.

The plan went like clockwork and consisted of: Cleaning the walls (with a wire brush); Scraping off loose plaster; Cleaning the tops of the cupboards; Disposing of some bodies (sorry - rubbish)

Grateful thanks to Stella Read, the gang’s accomplice, who aided and abetted them admirably by procuring supplies of tea and coffee.

Phase II is currently being planned meticulously and might include painting– watch out for further alerts!

(Please contact the gang if you would like to arrange a contract with them).

    Holy Trinity Church Roof

All the scaffolding is down and we can report that the roof is now, as far as we are aware, waterproof. This of course came with a huge cost but needed to be done. We are now applying for grants to see if we can cover more of the cost of £40.000 to pay for it. Last December we received £10,000 from the Muton Trust for which we are extremely grateful. Any kind donations thankfully received! We are about £12,000 short of our target.

“God doesn’t have a holiday!

Working through a desk groaning with paper on a glorious sunny summer morning, I just happened to wish out loud that I was on holiday. However, I was soon reminded by a parishioner of the wonderful truth that God doesn’t have holidays.
