Thomas Fowell Buxton Monument Dedication Ceremony

A monument to commemorate Thomas Fowell Buxton, MP for Weymouth between 1818 and 1837, who led the struggle to abolish slavery as an economic system, will be dedicated on Monday 5th June at 11.30 am on Bincleaves Green. Thomas Fowell Buxton took over the leadership of the movement in parliament from William Wilberforce in 1821.
