‘Coffee Shop’
From 28th July to the 8th September 2012, at Holy Trinity, we are holding our annual ‘Coffee Shop’ (coffee and delicious home made cakes) on Saturday mornings from 28th of July to the 8th of September. We are looking for some volunteers to help in all aspects to help this event a success. If you can spare any time, it does not have to be every week.

Fr Philip Elliott - Our New Curate
I’ve never lived at the seaside before. I am therefore delighted that my journey is taking me to the beautiful town of Weymouth with its spectacular coastal setting. We are all on a journey of one kind or another. Our journeys can be pretty frightening at times and they can also be very exciting.

Salisbury Diocesan Synod urges House of Bishops to think again
Representatives from parishes across Dorset and Wiltshire called on the House of Bishops to reconsider one of their amendments to legislation for women bishops during a meeting of the Salisbury Diocesan Synod at St Paul’s Church, Salisbury this week (Tuesday 21 June).

Bishop of Ramsbury Announced
Her Majesty The Queen has approved the nomination of the Reverend Canon Edward Francis Condry, BA, BLitt, DPhil, MBA, Canon Residentiary of Canterbury Cathedral in the Diocese of Canterbury and Treasurer and Director of Education in Canterbury Cathedral as the next Bishop of Ramsbury in the Diocese of Salisbury.

New curate appointed
We are looking forward very much to welcoming a new curate - Reverend Philip Elliott, currently curate at Holy Trinity Church, Bradford-on-Avon. Philip is originally from South Africa. He worked in the hospitality industry before training for the priesthood at Wescott House, Cambridge. He will be licensed to serve this parish on 1st July at our Combined Service by the Archdeacon of Sherborne.

Historic Church Trail for Olympic Visitors
The Bishop of Sherborne, Dr Graham Kings, will lead a two-part service at Whitchurch Canonicorum and the nearby Healing Well on Sunday 1 July (beginning 10am) and travel the route of ‘Seeking Gold’, a new Pilgrimage trail in Dorset celebrating the 2012 Olympic Games.Bishop Kings will travel by car before walking the ‘Priests’ Way’ between Swanage and St Aldhelm’s Chapel. The public are welcome to join in for the walking stage.
