Gift Day
As has been customary for some years the Parochial Church Council (PCC) has decided to
hold a Gift Day on the weekend of the Christmas Fayre which is on Saturday 5th December.
A Gift Day is when you are asked, if you feel able, to give a gift of money to the church in addition to your normal weekly giving. Envelopes for this purpose will be available a couple of weeks
beforehand. If you are a tax payer your gift can be Gift Aided and the church will receive 28p back from the government for every £1 you give. Please complete and sign the declaration on the envelope. Please give as generously as you feel able.

It doesn’t seem so long ago that I was writing for the parish magazine to tell you a little about your new curate and the rest of the family, before we arrived; now I am writing as we are leaving – my last Sunday with you will be on 12 February and we move a day or two after that.

The Archbishop of Canterbury arrived on pilgrimage on January 27th. Here with a small group of clergy and laity, the Archbishop began his pilgrimage in the Galilee. He also met with the local and regional clergy, heads of churches and a number of important civil leaders at St. Margaret’s Guest House in Nazareth.
