Church Flowers

I want to take the opportunity to thank everyone who has made donations towards the flowers this year. It is a new idea for us and seems to have been popular.

It was possible to put some money aside during the year to fund the Harvest flowers which we hope you have enjoyed.  We hope to do the same for the Christmas flowers and then continue the scheme next year.

Thank you, also, to the people who contribute foliage for the various festivals. This is so important as the flowers would not look as beautiful without the range of texture and colour that the foliage supplies.

Lastly, thank you to all the flower arrangers who make the church look so attractive. We are a happy bunch (!) with a wide range of ability.  Most of us have learnt from helping others and just ‘having a go’.  So if you would like to join us, please have a word with me at Church.

Vicar’s letter for February 2012

“‘There’s no place like home’ goes the old song and it is surely true that for virtually everyone home is important. If we’ve been away for a long time we are really eager to get back. One of the worst punishments that was handed down in the past was exile.”
