Ada’s Licensing
Revd Ada Whittock was licensed and installed on Thursday 5th March as Associate Vicar of the Benefice of Abbotsbury, Portesham and Langton Herring, together with Revd Richard Press as Priest in Charge.
The service at a packed St Nicholas, Abbotsbury was conducted by the Ven. Paul Taylor, Archdeacon of Sherborne and attended by family and friends from Holy Trinity and Ada’s three new parishes. Afterwards we all squeezed into Strangways Hall for some wonderful refreshments. We all wish God’s blessings on Ada as she begins her work in her new parishes.

It doesn’t seem so long ago that I was writing for the parish magazine to tell you a little about your new curate and the rest of the family, before we arrived; now I am writing as we are leaving – my last Sunday with you will be on 12 February and we move a day or two after that.

The Archbishop of Canterbury arrived on pilgrimage on January 27th. Here with a small group of clergy and laity, the Archbishop began his pilgrimage in the Galilee. He also met with the local and regional clergy, heads of churches and a number of important civil leaders at St. Margaret’s Guest House in Nazareth.
