Fundraising for the Sudan
The concert on 24 November by the chamber choir Lauda from the Southampton/New Forest area was a great success.
The audience were treated to a wonderful evening of six centuries of English choral music from Tallis to Taverner. £550 was raised for the Salisbury Diocesan Sudan Link.
Throughout the weekend of 24–25 November, there was a display of photographs, posters and banners promoting our Sudan link, mainly reflecting recent and current developments in the Sudan. Most of the photographs were taken by a professional graphics artist from Dorchester, Richard Budd, who accompanied Bishop Tim Thornton in the Sudan last December.
The Sudan Cards, designs from past years plus eight new designs by Keith Whittock, are selling well. We should exceed last year’s profit of over £1,000.
